Overview
A modular anaerobic digestion package converting suitable segregated organic material into biogas and digestate. Farm and food waste digesters use a feed preparation and mixed reactor arrangement; high strength industrial wastewater uses a separately selected reactor configuration. The package joins receiving, biological conversion, gas handling and downstream treatment.
Product capabilities
- Receiving hopper and depackager where needed
- grit screen
- feed and equalization tanks
- dosing pumps
- insulated reactor
- mixer or feed distribution internals
Feedstock and input
Food waste, manure, compatible biosolids or characterized biodegradable effluent. Reject toxic loads and uncontrolled mixed waste.
Core components
- Receiving hopper and depackager where needed
- grit screen
- feed and equalization tanks
- dosing pumps
- insulated reactor
- mixer or feed distribution internals
- heating loop
- gas holder
- condensate trap
- H2S treatment
- gas analyzer
- pressure and vacuum protection
- flare
- digestate transfer and PLC
Process
Receive and characterize feed; prepare and meter it; digest; collect and condition gas; send digestate to recovery or treatment.
Design basis
Measure solids, biodegradable COD, inhibitors, seasonal loading, methane potential, water and heat demand. Select retention, biomass retention and loading by trials.
IoT measurements
Feed flow, tank temperature and pH, gas flow, CH4/H2S and pressure; correlate laboratory loading and methane yield.
IoT architecture
Local PLC/HMI, buffered historian and secure gateway; remote alarms and reports. Cloud loss does not stop local control. See common architecture and acceptance tests.
Future capability
Flag feed and gas yield deviations and summarize operating evidence. Operators approve feed changes.
Typical applications
U.S. dairies, food processors and wastewater facilities; global markets with dependable organic supply and digestate outlets.
Pilot validation
Demonstrate stable digestion, measured gas quality and quantity, methane containment and a complete digestate balance.
