Overview
A combined heat and power package using conditioned biogas to deliver useful electricity and recovered heat. It can serve a digester heating loop, process hot water or a site heat network. The engine or turbine is selected against actual gas quality and the customer heat demand rather than electricity rating alone.
Product capabilities
- Fuel filter and pressure regulator
- qualified gas engine or microturbine
- generator
- exhaust and jacket heat exchangers
- hot water circuit
- radiator
Feedstock and input
Conditioned biogas or other OEM approved renewable fuel gas; no untreated gas directly to an engine.
Core components
- Fuel filter and pressure regulator
- qualified gas engine or microturbine
- generator
- exhaust and jacket heat exchangers
- hot water circuit
- radiator
- acoustic enclosure
- switchgear
- grid protection
- emissions control where required
- gas detection and PLC
Process
Condition gas; generate electricity; recover engine and exhaust heat; serve local loads or an approved export connection.
Design basis
Develop hourly power and heat demand profiles, fuel composition limits, maintenance intervals and net auxiliary load.
IoT measurements
Gas use, electrical output, useful heat and engine condition; trend net energy and maintenance.
IoT architecture
Local PLC/HMI, buffered historian and secure gateway; remote alarms and reports. Cloud loss does not stop local control. See common architecture and acceptance tests.
Future capability
Compare heat utilization and fuel consumption against baselines; propose maintenance and dispatch schedules.
Typical applications
Food and wastewater plants, farms, hospitals and industrial sites with dependable heat demand.
Pilot validation
Measure net electricity, useful heat, fuel energy, exhaust performance and interconnection protection response.
Problem and deployment scope
Biogas and biological energy
How it works
- Fuel filter and pressure regulator
- qualified gas engine or microturbine
- generator
- exhaust and jacket heat exchangers
- hot water circuit
- radiator
Architecture
Confirm data sources, field interfaces and operating requirements during discovery. Integration compatibility is reviewed for each deployment.
Integrations
Interface availability and supported protocols require product-specific confirmation.
Deployment
Scope, installation, security, acceptance criteria and training are agreed with the project team.
Use cases
Food and wastewater plants, farms, hospitals and industrial sites with dependable heat demand.
