Overview
A biomass or biosolids pyrolysis package for controlled thermal conversion with limited oxygen, producing char and recoverable process energy. Feedstock specific trials determine drying and conversion needs. Char is treated as a tested material product; fertilizer use or durable carbon claims require evidence for the intended application.
Product capabilities
- Feed reception
- dewatering or dryer
- size reduction
- sealed metering feed
- pyrolysis reactor
- qualified heating system
Feedstock and input
Qualified biomass residues or characterized biosolids. Contaminated feed and treated wood require specific evaluation.

- sealed metering feed
- pyrolysis reactor
- qualified heating system
- vapor or gas handling
- thermal oxidizer as required
- heat recovery
- sealed char cooling
- dust collection

- analyzers
- fire protection and PLC
Process
Prepare and dry feed; convert in a controlled reactor; recover usable heat; cool and sample char; manage emissions.
Design basis
Assess moisture, ash, chlorine, metals, contaminants, char outlet specifications and total drying energy.
IoT measurements
Feed moisture, reactor temperature and pressure, oxygen, char cooling and exhaust; retain laboratory char release.
IoT architecture
Local PLC/HMI, buffered historian and secure gateway; remote alarms and reports. Cloud loss does not stop local control. See common architecture and acceptance tests.
Future capability
Compare batches and flag temperature, mass balance and char quality deviations for review.
Typical applications
U.S. wastewater utilities, forestry residue processors and industrial material producers; suitable global biomass streams.
Pilot validation
Verify char characterization, emissions, containment, energy balance and stable operation. No general PFAS destruction claim transfers from references.
